Apply for emergency food, shelter funds
Carlton County has been chosen to receive $4,925 in federal funds to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. Members of a local board will determine how the awarded funds are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area.
Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must be private voluntary nonprofits or units of government; be eligible to receive federal funds; have an accounting system; practice nondiscrimination; have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs; and if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board. Qualifying agencies are urged to complete a simple form to apply.
Carlton County has distributed emergency food and shelter funds previously to the Salvation Army and the Tri-Community Food Shelf. Contact Ali Bilden Camps, United Way of Carlton County, at 218-879-8404 or firstname.lastname@example.org for an application. Applications must be received by July 20.
