HRA adds staff, expects apartment groundbreaking this fall
Barbara Perttu recently joined the Cloquet/Carlton Housing and Redevelopment Authority as its public housing specialist.
Executive Director Debra Shaff said Perttu is a new addition to the team, and will be responsible for waitlist management, lease-ups, annual and interim recertifications and routine tenant issues. She will work with public housing tenants at Aspen Arms and Woodland Pines.
In other HRA news, Shaff said she expects a loan closing in August on the new White Pine Apartments building next to Aspen Arms, with groundbreaking likely in September. The new 35-unit building will have some units with supportive contracts for people with an illness or mental health issues.
