Author and humorist Lorna Landvik has been entertaining readers and audiences most of her adult life. Her blend of small-town Scandinavian-Minnesota humor has earned her an enthusiastic following across the state. Cloquet Public Library will host a talk by Landvik at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 7.
Landvik grew up in East Grand Forks and Minneapolis, the daughter of Norwegian immigrants. Writing and theater were her passions. She was a standup comedian in California, a hotel chamber maid in Bavaria, Germany, and a member of the improvisational comedy team of Dudley Riggs in Minneapolis. Her debut comic novel, "Patty Jane's House of Curl," placed her on the map of popular Minnesota authors.
Ms. Landvik will talk about her inspirations as a writer and her newest novel, "Once in a Blue Moon Lodge" (published last Spring by the University of Minnesota Press), as part of her tour of the Arrowhead Library System through a grant from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
