One dead, one injured in Cloquet crash
A Cloquet man died in a rollover accident Saturday, Oct. 28, on the 2000 block of Carlton Avenue.
Cloquet police officers and Cloquet Area Fire District personnel were called to the scene of a fatal crash at about 11:30 p.m.
According to a Cloquet Police Department press release, the officers found a 2014 Ford F-150 was traveling west on Carlton Avenue when it struck parked vehicles and rolled, partially ejecting the victim.
Craig Larson, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene. His son, Cody Larson, 29, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported by ambulance to a Duluth hospital.
Craig Larson’s truck hit a Buick and a Chevrolet Tahoe parked on the side of Carlton Avenue.
The investigation is ongoing. Alcohol could be a contributing factor.
Larson was a 1979 Cloquet graduate. According to his obituary, Larson worked for USG for more than 21 years and later for Agropur in St. Paul. He was most recently employed by Aardvark Septic in Cloquet.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Office, Fond du Lac Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the crash.
