FDLTCC, other MN colleges, waive application fee during October

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College is among the 30 colleges and seven universities of Minnesota State waiving application fees in October for all or part of College Knowledge Month, an annual statewide effort to encourage students to apply to college.

“The free application period during College Knowledge Month in October comes at a great time as it supports our goal of encouraging students to apply early for college admission and dream about their futures,” said Josh Cleveland, admissions officer at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. “When I am at college fairs and high school visits during the fall months, students often tell me they thought it was going to be much harder to apply and they are glad to start the process early and be accepted to college. The no-fee application during October is an added bonus.”

FDLTCC has chosen to waive application fees for the entire month of October 2017, while most Minnesota State colleges and universities are waiving application fees from Oct. 23-31. Application fees for qualified low-income students are always waived at all Minnesota State system colleges and universities.

The application for admissions is then followed with a placement test, applying for financial aid, and then sitting down with an adviser to pick classes. The free application period during October is available for students planning to start classes during Spring 2018 or Fall 2018 Semesters at FDLTCC.

Applications for admission are available online at the college’s web site at, or by contacting Susan Bumann in the FDLTCC Admissions Office at 218-879-0808 or via email to
