Veterans Day Supper - Barnum
The Peterson Westerberg American Legion Post 415 in Barnum will have their annual Veterans Day Supper on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Barnum Community Center. Social time begins at 6 p.m., with a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m. Guest speakers will be Dustin Collelo of the Veterans Service Office, Girls State candidate Peyton Bushey and Boys State candidate Paul Vogt. All veterans and families are invited.
Veterans Day Dinner - Carlton
The Carlton VFW will host a Veterans Day Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 11, with a program at 5 p.m. featuring guest speaker Greg Emerson, Army Infantry, Afghanistan, followed by a turkey dinner at 5:30 p.m. Veterans eat free and guests are $5. Sign up at the Post or call 218-384-3794 by Friday, Nov. 8.
Veterans Day Dinner - Cloquet
The Cloquet VFW and Cloquet American Legion will co-host this event on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Cloquet VFW. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 4-7 p.m. Veterans eat free and guests are $7. For questions, call 218-879-2447.
Veterans Day Program - Cromwell
The fifth Annual Veteran’s Day Program will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Cardinal Court/Villa Vista. Cromwell-Wright High School seniors will ask questions and listen to the stories and memories of veterans willing to tell their memories of military service. A luncheon for the veterans will be served and if you have any uniforms, photographs, military souvenirs or medals, please bring them along to share, too.
Free Transportation for Veterans
Arrowhead Transit is offering free transportation on all their buses to all veterans on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11. Disabled veterans always ride free on Arrowhead Transit. Identification is required. Call 800-862-0175 to arrange for rides. Jefferson Lines is also offering free rides on Veterans Day. Moose Lake school program set for Nov. 13
Each year in November, students and faculty at Moose Lake school pause to remember and give thanks for family, for friends, and for veterans. On Thursday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. Moose Lake elementary and junior high students will do just that as they host a special program thanking and honoring veterans and remembering those who are currently serving in the armed forces. The program will be educational as well. There will be the Presentation of Colors, a MIA/POW Table Setting Ceremony, and many veterans in full uniform from all branches of service. Special songs will be sung and a special tribute table will be in place showing photos of servicemen/women past and present. Anyone attending may also bring a photo to share at this table. The public is invited to the Moose Lake School gym for this very special program.
