Super One Foods to Donate Lottery Bonus to Second Harvest
For the second time in just under 3 years, Super One Food's Miller Hill Mall location, 5401 Burning Tree Road, Duluth, has sold a winning lottery ticket. On December 26, 2011, James Putnam of Duluth purchased a quick-pick for the Gopher 5 drawing winning $1,242,385.
As a bonus for selling the winning ticket, Super One Foods will receive $5,000 which it donated to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank during a check presentation on Friday, January 13, 2012, 9 a.m., at Super One's Miller Hill Mall store.
"We are absolutely delighted that we sold another big jackpot-winning ticket," said Jim Miner Jr., President of Miner's Inc., the owner of Super One Foods. "The $10,000 retailer bonus we earned in February 2009 was donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. We will also donate the $5,000 from the sale of the Gopher 5 jackpot to Second Harvest."
In 2009, Super One Miller Hill sold a $2.37 million Hot Lotto® ticket to Ed Ruiz of Canyon. Super One also donated this $10,000 bonus to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank.
"We have a wonderful relationship with Miner's Inc./Super One Foods," said Shaye Moris, Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank's Executive Director. "I wish I could say I was surprised they are donating their store bonus but that's the kind of family and organization they are. Their generosity is amazing and their contribution will certainly feed many."
