Diabetes prevention program starts in May
One out of three American adults has prediabetes. Community Memorial Hospital’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps people learn how to reduce their risk for developing diabetes. Its one-year community-based program is designed to enable adults to make lifestyle changes that will improve their overall health and reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Groups meet for 26 sessions with trained lifestyle coaches. Classes focus on making small lifestyle changes. Class starts May 9. The cost is $50 or based on a sliding-fee scale per income, but no one is denied participation due to inability to pay.
Community Memorial Hospital will host informational sessions April 17 from 3-4 p.m. and May 2 from 4-5 p.m. For more information, contact Mary Kay Marciniak at 218-878-7661 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
