Celebrate Wrong days in Wright this weekend

The 52nd annual Wrong Days in Wright celebration kicks off Friday and continues throughout Saturday, offering a unique twist on small town fun with events like the chicken pooping contest and the game of O-G-N-I-B (aka Bingo).

Church comes first. Hit the rummage sale at St. John’s and the Wright Senior Center from 2-5 p.m. Friday, followed by the pie social from 5-7 p.m. at Bethlehem. The King and Queen coronations is at 7 p.m. at the Big Top, followed by O-G-N-I-B. Fireworks go off at dusk Friday.

On Saturday, the parade begins at 10:30 a.m. with lineup by Groth Lumber at 9:30 a.m. The scavenger hunt starts at 10 a.m. and a horseshoe tournament starts at 11 a.m. (contact Bill Nelson at 218-768-4285). Kids can play games and jump in the bouncy house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and older game players can embrace the cribbage tourney from 3-5 p.m. at the fire hall. A bean bag tourney follows at 5 p.m. in the Big Top. There will be both volleyball (call Lea at 218-348-8305) and softball tournaments (call Tom at 218-576-8015) at the park all weekend. The weekend wraps up with music by Dean Nyberg is from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Big Top.
