It may seem like a case of David versus Goliath, but a handful of residents who live along the two-block section of 18th Street between Cloquet Avenue and Avenue B in Cloquet are making their voices heard.
The Cloquet Police Department has fielded numerous complaints from the residents of that street about noise and debris from trucks entering and exiting the Sappi paper mill.
At least 410 people were killed on Minnesota roads in 2010, according to preliminary records from the state Department of Public Safety (DPS) Office of Traffic Safety. DPS projects the final 2010 count to close around the 420 mark — on par with 2009’s total of 421, the lowest number of annual deaths since 1944.
Mn/DOT and the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) have teamed up to ease expected rush-hour traffic congestion on I-35 and Grand Avenue during the construction season by providing free round-trip express service for morning commuters boarding buses at temporary Grand Avenue Park & Ride lots and mainline bus stops along Grand Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue west of 46th Ave. W. in Duluth.
