'Bath salt' drugs are off-white crystals sold in small bottles or foil packets at convenience stores and at raves or dance clubs around the country. They may be named something like Red Dove, Purple, Cloud Nine, Lunar Wave or Pure Ivory.
During the month of August 2011, the Cloquet Police Department began a multi-county methamphetamine drug investigation. Cloquet Detectives had information that large quantities of the drug were being transported to the Carlton County area from Pine County. During the investigation Cloquet Police Detectives were able to purchase methamphetamine on numerous occasions from a Carlton County resident.

Tiago Antonio Gilbert, 19, of the Twin Cities area, was sentenced in Carlton County Court last Thursday, Aug. 26, for his role in a gang-related drug sale that took place on the Fond du Lac Reservation on June 29.
After turning himself in on a warrant, Matthew Louis Scheper, 20, was charged July 2 in Carlton County Court with two felonies – first-degree possession of drugs for sale and receiving stolen property – and one misdemeanor charge of carrying or possessing a pistol without a permit in a public place.
After several complaints from residents of the Fond du Lac Reservation, Cloquet police officers set up an undercover drug sting operation that resulted in the June 29 arrest of four people involved in the sale of crack cocaine.
A Cloquet man is facing criminal charges after Cloquet Police detectives allegedly found a large amount of methamphetamine in his vehicle.
Jonathan Henry Christian, 36, was charged last Friday in Carlton County District Court with one count of second-degree controlled substance crime for possession of meth and misdemeanor no proof of insurance by driver.
A Carlton man was given a suspended sentence of nearly five years Wednesday for second-degree felony possession of 100 methadone pills – but not before Carlton County District Court Judge Dale Wolf expressed reservations about it.
