Council adopts proposed 2011 budget

As of Tuesday night’s unanimous Cloquet City Council vote adopting the proposed 2011 budget and levy, the most the city will levy for 2011 is $2,650,000, an increase of 3.92 percent. Council members could vote to levy less when they adopt the final budget Dec. 7, but not a penny more.

Council closer to setting budget, levy

Cloquet City Council members and city staff held their third working session on the city’s five-year Capital Improvement Plan and proposed 2011 budget on Tuesday, and it appears the city’s 2011 proposed levy will increase by 3.92 percent, rather than the previously suggested 4.12 percent increase.

Cloquet City Council gets first peek at next year’s budget

Cloquet City Council members were presented with a draft of the 2011 budget at Tuesday night’s council work session. The grand total of all expenditures for the city of Cloquet in 2011 is estimated to be $12,282,520. That is down from the 2010 budget of $13,224,830.
