The First Annual Lumberjack Laps Kids Fun Run was held Saturday, May 15, at Cloquet High School. Over 300 runners participated in seven different race categories. This event was held as a fundraiser for Washington Elementary School.
Moose Lake-Willow River football head coach Dave Louzek was accustomed to scoring points with his gridiron gang this past fall. But this spring, he was hesitant about whether his Rebels boys track and field team would do the same.
Cloquet High School teacher and head track and field coach Tim Prosen had a little extra pep in his step Tuesday, anticipating the Lumberjacks’ first home meet that afternoon.
And when it was over, he was all smiles.
Having less than a third of his team Saturday, one could say Tim Lindquist’s Esko girls track and field squad was a little short-handed.
But not in the scoring department.
His Eskomos tallied over 100 points – again.
Tim Prosen clearly remembers the times when his Cloquet track and field team had to cancel meets due to snowstorms.
This season, things are different. Beautiful spring weather has allowed the Lumberjacks to compete outside earlier than ever.
