On August 14, 2011 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Carlton County 9-1-1 received a call from a passing motorist reporting a single vehicle accident and what appeared to be a deceased male on East North Cloquet Road near Mitzner Road in Thomson Township.
A 24-year-old Wrenshall High School alum died Friday after the car he was riding in rolled over when the driver missed a curve on state Highway 23 in Duluth’s Fond du Lac neighborhood just before 1 a.m.
Tim Stephenson was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A Cloquet man was seriously injured Tuesday morning when he turned in front of an empty logging truck on County Road 61 near Omar’s Gravel Pit.

A semi loaded with ceiling tile overturned sideways into the median on Highway 33 in Cloquet this morning.According to Cloquet Police Chief Wade Lamirande, the driver was headed south on 33 when a second vehicle pulled into his lane.
A fund has been set up to assist the family of Jim and Chanelle Laitinen of Blackhoof, who continue to recover from critical injuries sustained in the rollover of their van while vacationing on the West Coast.
Jim and Chanelle Laitinen of Blackhoof, along with one of their three children, remain hospitalized after the van in which they were driving left the roadway and rolled three times while travelling east of Portland, Ore., on Tuesday.
