Well, at least it was good for the game.... Sunday’s gold medal hockey game was great theater, another excellent hockey game between the United States and Canada and a fine advertisement for hockey the way it ought to be played.

CEC girls head into summer break with some optimism 
The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls hockey team heads into the off-season a little earlier than it had planned, but with high hopes for the future.
The 2-1 quarterfinal playoff loss rankled, but coach Dick Bartholdi didn’t have a lot to complain about.

Local athletes selected to play in All-Star hockey game 
The fifth annual K1 northern Minnesota girls high school hockey All-Star game will be held Tuesday, March 2, at the Cloquet Area Recreation Center. Activities will include a skills competition from 6:30-7:30 p.m., followed by the All-Star game at 8 p.m.
