Last week as I walked the woods of early June, I was struck by the abundance of green on the forest floor. Here the blue-bead lilies (Clintonia) were tightly packed with the wild lilies of the valleys and starflowers.

Summer vacation. School let out last week. We are on the 10th day of summer break and I woke this morning with the realization we have a full 84 consecutive days remaining before this escapade of ours is over.
There’s a lot of research that points to the fact that people with strong, powerful voices are perceived as having greater self-confidence than people with softer voices.
