After spending the summer embroiled in community meetings, Carlton School Board members have arrived at the exact perimeters for this November’s vote on an operating referendum for the district. At Monday’s regular board meeting, board members announced the referendum will ask for $1,100 per pupil unit for seven years.

OUR VOICES Western middle school gets icy reception

At a meeting of the Duluth Planning Commission Tuesday night, plans for a proposed new middle school between Wheeler Field and Skyline Drive received an icy public reception. Granted, the turnout was small, but those who cared enough to show up and offer public comment on the prospective new school
