Norway native Leif Andol and Duluth writer Margi Preus are featured speakers at the symposium “Norway and the Nazis: The Resistance 1940-1945” at the Cloquet Public Library May 2-14. Preus will give a slide presentation on Thursday, May 2, at 6:30 p.m. Andol will speak about his experience growing up under occupation and about the Kompani Linge (“Linge Company”) saboteurs on Saturday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m.
Kristine Hiller, a naturalist with Jay Cooke State Park, will lead a discussion at 10:30 a.m. Saturday that complements "The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate," the young reader's selection for this year's One Book, One Community reading project.
This spring, the Cloquet Public Library, along with other libraries in the Arrowhead Library System, is sponsoring the selection of “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot as part of the "One Book, One Community" reading project.
