The University of Minnesota 4-H program, in conjunction with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, has successfully secured a grant to support the “4-H Mentoring: Youth and Families with Promise (4-H YFP)” program in up to 29 tribal communities, reaching 1,100 Native American youth ages 10-17.

Around noon last Saturday, a 13-year-old girl was reported missing in the Cloquet area. Her parents told the Cloquet Police Department that she had told them she was going for a walk but that she had been gone for an extended period of time.

Fond du Lac dedicates teen treatment center
While the Fond du Lac Tagwii program has been under way for several years – at varying locations – the Mino Wii Jii Win Adolescent Treatment Program is just beginning. County endorses land exchange with reservation 
Carlton County commissioners endorsed a plan Monday that will pave the way for a major Class B (equal value) land exchange between the county and the Fond du Lac Reservation. The board voted unanimously in favor of a plan wherein the reservation would purchase 1,450 acres of land in Clear Creek Township for $1.7 million from a development company known as Land and Cabins, which owns first option on the land with Potlatch Minnesota Timberlands.
