Donald Albert Wilton Sr.
Donald A. Wilton Sr., 76, of Brookston, Minn., passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at the Silver Bay Veterans Home. He was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Duluth, Minn., to Thomas and Olga (Erickson) Wilton and graduated from Brookston High School in 1956. Don served in the United States Army and was a lifelong Brookston resident. He owned and operated the Brookston Garbage Service for over 30 years and also installed septic systems. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Milberger on June 17, 1967, in Brookston. He had many interests including playing pool with his family, shooting archery in the club he helped start in Brookston, and attempting to fish on Lake Superior (which never worked). Don never turned away from someone who needed help, whether they were family or friends. Even if it meant not charging someone for pick-ups that mom didn't know about. He was well known for his gift of gab and the ability to take a five-hour route and turn it into eight hours. He will be missed by all who ever had the pleasure to meet and talk with him.
