Sonja Mae Olsen, 54, of Carlton, Minn., died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, in her home with her loving family by her side. She was born Jan. 19, 1958, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Jack and Drusilla Hansell. When she was a young girl, the family moved to Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii. She graduated from high school in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands. She moved back to Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii, receiving her master’s degree in counseling. She worked for the University of Hawaii as a counselor.
