Cromwell-Wright speech team earns berth at state
Cromwell-Wright earned the Section 7A runner-up trophy at the Section Speech Tournament held Friday, March 30, at Hibbing Community College, with five students qualifying for state. Nineteen schools competed in Section 7A, including Virginia, Ely and Duluth Marshall.

Dennis Delbert Genereau
Dennis D. Genereau, 67, of Barnum, Minn., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was born Aug. 10, 1944, in Duluth, Minn., to Delbert and Marguerite (Couture) Genereau. Dennis married the love of his life, Annabelle Gooder, on April 1, 1967, in Duluth. They were just one day short of their 45th wedding anniversary. He grew up in Duluth and attended St. James Elementary School and Cathedral High School. Dennis graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1966 with an industrial arts degree. He taught industrial arts at Duluth Cathedral High School for nine years, and coached hockey five of those years, taking four of his teams to the state high school hockey tournament.

Vera Eugenia Suhonen
Vera Eugenia Suhonen, 87, of Wright, Minn., died Thursday, March 22, 2012, in Cardinal Courts in Cromwell, Minn. She was born Feb. 11, 1925, in Cloquet, Minn., to Carl and Germina Bogenholm. Vera grew up in Wright and graduated from Cromwell High School in 1943. After high school she moved to Chicago and worked at Zenith Radio for one year. She moved back to Duluth, Minn., and worked as a telephone operator until she married Niilo Suhonen on Jan. 4, 1949. They made their home in Wright and together raised nine children.
