Walmart and The Salvation Army are partnering this Christmas season to help provide new toys and coats to local children on Christmas as part of the 122nd Annual Red Kettle Campaign. The “Fill the Truck” toy drive will be hosted at the Cloquet Walmart, along with more than 2,500 other Walmart stores across the country, on Saturday, Dec, 8.

Mathilda “Tillie” Valley, 95, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, in Community Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on Aug. 29, 1917, in Cold Spring, Minn., to Michael and Anna (Notch) Lardy. She married Leo Valley on April 19, 1939, in St. Cloud, Minn. Tillie was a resident at Cloquet Lighthouse for eight years.
