Local funeral home bingo event helps support food shelf
Karen Atkins of the Atkins Northland Funeral Home recently presented a check to Jackie Meyer of the Salvation Army Food Shelf in the amount of $222. The funeral home also delivered 218 pounds of food to the food shelf.

Sometimes my husband calls them pasties (pay-sties) and sometimes he calls them pasties (paa-sties). But somehow, the word “pasties,” pronounced as it was meant to be pronounced when referring to the popular little meat pies, is never quite the first thing out of his mouth.
