Diane Marie House, 71, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at her home. She was born May 22, 1941, in Beaver Township, Minn., to Arne and Artura (Jackson) Liikala. Diane loved making crafts, bowling, fishing and especially traveling and following her grandson's horse racing careers. She was also a member of the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Auxiliary in Carlton, Minn.

Carlton man turns Fiascos into fortunes – for cancer
Over a quarter century ago, Carlton businessman Harold Ankrum and a group of his friends decided to plan a little “guys’ get together” on the local golf course. As the years went by, the golf event got bigger and bigger, and “All of a sudden,” said Ankrum, “we were making more like $4,000 on it!” He gives it all to cancer-related causes.
