Carlton County Auditor/Treasurer Paul Gassert has announced the following Carlton County townships and cities will conduct their Nov. 6, 2012, elections by mail ballot: Beseman Township, Clear Creek Township, Corona Township, Holyoke Township, Kalevala Township, Progress Township, Red Clover Township, Split Rock Township, Wrenshall Township, city of Cromwell, city of Kettle River, city of Thomson, city of Wrenshall, and city of Wright.

Investigation continues into electrocution of Hill City man
A Hill City man died on the way to Community Memorial Hospital last Thursday after being electrocuted on a job site near Wright. Richard Roy Washburn, 30, was employed with Ulland Brothers at the time of the accident.
