Bill and Kate Isles to kick off Songwriter Series at the Streetcar
The Streetcar Kitchen and Pub in Carlton will feature some of the region’s top performing songwriters in its inaugural Spring Songwriters Series which runs through Memorial Day. Local performing songwriters Bill and Kate Isles will kick off the season at 8 p.m. this Saturday night, March 23.

The annual free Community Thanksgiving Buffet, produced by community volunteers and he College of St. Scholastica, will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1000 Washington Ave., Cloquet, and for the first time in Carlton from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Streetcar Kitchen, 232 Chestnut Ave.

Weather forestalls one Winterfest, Carlton forges ahead with another
Ironically, last weekend’s frigid weather forced the cancellation of Cloquet’s planned Winterfest 2013 event in Pinehurst Park, since the outdoor temperatures never rose above the zero-degree mark. But planners for this weekend’s Carlton Winterfest celebration remain undaunted as they prepare for three days of fun-filled events this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
