Ironically, last weekend’s frigid weather forced the cancellation of Cloquet’s planned Winterfest 2013 event in Pinehurst Park, since the outdoor temperatures never rose above the zero-degree mark. But planners for this weekend’s Carlton Winterfest celebration remain undaunted as they prepare for three days of fun-filled events this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

It’s hard to believe that just a little over a month ago, a large portion of the city of Carlton and surrounding areas were under water following the record-setting June flooding. This weekend, the spunky little town proves it has more than kept its head above water as it pulls out all the stops to present its annual Carlton Daze Celebration.
