Saturday's “Fill the Truck” toy drive to support the Salvation Army
Walmart and The Salvation Army are partnering this Christmas season to help provide new toys and coats to local children on Christmas as part of the 122nd Annual Red Kettle Campaign. The “Fill the Truck” toy drive will be hosted at the Cloquet Walmart, along with more than 2,500 other Walmart stores across the country, on Saturday, Dec, 8.

Richard 'Rocky' Robert Kolodge
Richard "Rocky" R. Kolodge, 83, a lifelong resident of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. He was born July 20, 1929, in Cloquet to Joseph and Helen (Berlik) Kolodge. Rocky graduated from Cloquet High School and was a star athlete in numerous sports including football, basketball, baseball, track, and other extra-curricular activities. He loved sports of all kinds, Polish polka music, walking, and riding a bike.

While there is no official estimate yet for the flood damage done to the estimated 775 homes, myriad roads and all kinds of infrastructure across Carlton County, engineers, state officials and the Carlton County Assessor’s Office began working this week to scope out damage now that flood waters have begun to recede.
