Beatrice E. Johnson, 87, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Sunnyside Health Care Center, Cloquet. She was born April 6, 1925, in Scanlon, Minn., to Ernest and Lillian (Schilling) Ehrman and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1943. Beatrice was a lifelong Cloquet resident and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979 Auxiliary. She loved spending time at the family cabin at Prairie Lake which they had for over 22 years.

Lydia was employed at Pinewood and worked with the physically and mentally disabled most of her working life. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Lydia loved spending time with her granddaughters and doing crafts. She enjoyed camping, spending time in the outdoors, and the motorcycle trips with Dave.

Music was important to Ray and included playing his keyboard for the residents at Sunnyside Health Care Center and volunteering to give communion and praying the Rosary. He was a 70-year member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Bishop Welch Council of the Knights of Columbus and the Big Lake Golf Club, and enjoyed playing cribbage, bridge, riding his bike, and spending his winters in Mesa, Ariz., for over 25 years.

He was looking forward to an upcoming pheasant trip to South Dakota. Tim loved playing hockey for over 50 years, was a great sports fan, and also skied in two Birkebeiner ski races. He was a proud member of the Thunderbird Motorcycle Club and was also a member of Queen of Peace Parish. Tim was an owner of PAW Communications and had worked as a painter/contractor for Couture Brothers, and also for Minorca Mine.

Winifred M. Sarette, 100, formerly of Cloquet, Minn., died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at her home at St. Ann's Residence in Duluth, Minn. She was born Dec. 23, 1912, in London, England. She served in the British Women's Royal Air Force during World War II. During the war she met and married William (Buck) Sarette of Cloquet, and immigrated to the United States in 1946. Winifred was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, Legion of Mary, National Council of Catholic Women, Duplicate Bridge Club, and was a church lector for many years. She worked as an Avon representative earning numerous sales awards, and served on the resident's council at St. Ann's. Winifred believed that life is a gift from God, and that we should use that gift to help others. She made a practice of being thankful, and she finished her life believing that not one bad thing had ever happened to her in all her hundred years.
