Three people escaped from a garage fire that extended into a home in Scanlon early Thursday, but the home and garage are likely a total loss, Cloquet Area Fire District Chief Kevin Schroeder said. He estimated damages at between $225,000 and $250,000.

Two arrested after gun fired in dispute Sunday
On Sunday, Nov. 11 at approximately 11:30 PM police responded to the area of Blue Spruce Drive in the City of Cloquet on the Fond du Lac Indian Reservation, where witnesses stated that two individuals had gotten into an argument at a residence when one of the individuals was threatened with a gun. It was reported that shots were fired, but no one was injured.
