  • Beth Meidl, collector and storyteller, shares her gnome collection with students from South Terrace Elementary in Carlton on March 12, as part of the school’s second annual Artists in Residence Day. Throughout the day students got the opportunity to learn from Meidl, Danielle Melin and Tom Cawcutt. Melin, a Cloquet graduate and student currently attending the Minneapolis School of Art and Design, shared her illustrations and showed the students new drawing techniques. Cawcutt performed for the students and demonstrated the process of recording and producing a CD. Joel Soukkala/jsoukkala@pinejournal.com
