Joseph Stanley Misiak, 80, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at his home. He was born Jan. 18, 1933, in Poland to Jan and Pelagia (Zaremba) Misiak.
Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at the Northwest Paper/Potlatch Company and was the Local Union 97 president for over 20 years. Joe was a member of the Potlatch Quarter Century Club, life member of the Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1163, Carlton County Historical Society, an honorary member of the Suomi Club, and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ted, Henry and two infants.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one brother, John (Carol) Misiak; two sister-in-laws, Janina Misiak and Bernice Misiak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 19, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Military honors will be presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall.
