Glenn graduated from Esko High School in 1962 and attended the University of Minnesota until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. After a tour of duty in Vietnam, he worked for Weyerhauser Co. in Cloquet, Minn., before starting a 30-year career in real estate, owning and managing Red Barn Realty, Century 21 Lake Superior, and Lake Superior Properties.
To most friends and colleagues, Glenn will be remembered as an ardent sailor and skipper of the San Juan 24, "Gypsy" and then later the Peterson 34, "Foxy." A former commodore of the Duluth Yacht Club, Glenn also tutored dozens of today's boat owners, skippers and crew on the art of competitive sailing. He completed 10 Trans Superior Races.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Kaino (Kultala) Koski.
He is survived by two sons, Phillip (William) and Vincent; sister, Marigold Bayer; niece, Eleanor (Eric) Falk, all of Minneapolis, Minn.; and former wife, friend and caregiver, Betty.
The family thanks the staff of Foley Nursing Center for the care they provided Glenn over the past year.
A memorial service will be held in mid-March in Duluth.
