Magnhild 'Munnie' Albertine Collander Skog

Magnhild "Munnie" Albertine Collander Skog, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 in Faith Haven Nursing Home, Carlton, Minn. She was born in Bayview Heights on Feb. 13, 1922, and graduated from Proctor High School in 1939. She married Edgar Skog on June 20, 1942, and lived on the family farm in Munger for the next 60-some years. Besides farming, Munnie also worked as a trucker for many years and also owned and operated Skog's Greenhouse and Floral. In later years she was a realtor with Sorenson Realty, working in the Cloquet, Minn., area. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Proctor, Minn., from the age of 7 and of the many capacities she served in, singing in the choir was her favorite. She also sang in the American Legion Choir for over 25 years.

Munnie was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Anna Collander; husband, Edgar; sisters, Bernhild Schinn, Alfhild Berglund and Swanhild Pearson; and her brothers, Alf and Alvin Collander.

She is survived by her sons, Laurence (Judy) of Vienna, Va., and Jeffrey of Superior, Wis.; daughters, Wendy Worthington of Sebasian, Fla., and JulieAnne (Mike) Johnson of Munger; sister, Borghild Kittel of Barnum; grandchildren, Jeremy Skog, Scott Skog, Amy Skog, Brianna Thygeson-Johnson and Nathan Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service at Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. Inurnment will be in Solway Cemetery.
