Francis 'Barney' Hage
Francis “Barney” Hage, 92, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. Barney was born April 25, 1920, in Independence, Minn. He graduated from Cotton High School. After graduating, he then joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. On Nov. 20, 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army and after two years, he joined the Air Force to become a pilot. After his active duty he continued to serve in the Air Force reserve until he retired as a major. Barney worked for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for 36 years at many different locations.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice (O’Marrow); father, Alfred Hage; three brothers, Tracy, Harold and Leeland; and two sisters, Ione and Leatrice.
Barney is survived his wife of 71 years, Edna; children, Douglas Hage, Payton (Judy) Hage, Scott (Luanne) Hage and Bonnie Douglas (Kevin); six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister Hope McKay.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 14, from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.
