Ione M. Sander, 84, of Carlton, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Chris Jensen Health Care in Duluth, Minn. She was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Carlton to Oscar and Rose (St. Germaine) Larson.
Ione was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merton Sander; one son, Stanley Sander; and two sisters, Lucille Lagrow and Elaine Southworth.
She is survived by one daughter, Sue (Richard) Paulson of Culver, Minn.; one son, Tim (Deb Swartz) Sander of Duluth; one daughter-in-law, Myra "Punky" Sander of Cloquet; two sisters, Joann (Gerald) Pera and Lois Johnson, both of Cloquet; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Sherry Teague; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet, followed by refreshments in the fellowship room. Inurnment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Carlton.
