Timothy Gerald Couture

Timothy "Tim" Gerald Couture, 53, of Cloquet, Minn., passed Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn., surrounded by his family. He was born June 1, 1959, in Duluth to Gerald and Phyllis (Carino) Couture and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1977. Tim was a loving father and avid fisherman and hunter. He was looking forward to an upcoming pheasant trip to South Dakota. Tim loved playing hockey for over 50 years, was a great sports fan, and also skied in two Birkebeiner ski races. He was a proud member of the Thunderbird Motorcycle Club and was also a member of Queen of Peace Parish. Tim was an owner of PAW Communications and had worked as a painter/contractor for Couture Brothers, and also for Minorca Mine.

Tim was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Theodore and Rose Couture; and his maternal grandparents, Sam and Stella Carino.

He is survived by Denise Couture, the mother of his children; his children, Travis, Marissa (Ricky Nelson) and KayLeigh (Jacob Bushey) Couture; his parents, Gerald and Phyllis Couture; three brothers, Jeffrey, Patrick (Kim Grimm) and Anthony Couture; one grandson, Emmett Nelson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 21 from 5-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. The visitation will resume on Monday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Interment service will be at New Calvary Cemetery followed by a luncheon in the church social hall.
