Victoria Urrutia Yellow Earrings
Victoria Yellow Earrings, 60, of Duluth, Minn., passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012. She was born Feb. 20, 1952, in Arizona to Benito and Josephine (Kingbird) Urrutia. Vicky was a member of the Red Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and worked as a social worker for the Fond du Lac Reservation. She loved her culture and Native American powwows, and spending time with her family.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents and one son, James K. VanNett.
She is survived by three daughters, Renee VanNett, JoeAnn Hernandez and Maria VanNett; five brothers, and four sisters; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Fond du Lac Reservation Gymnasium. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, also at the gymnasium. Interment will follow at Oneota Cemetery in Duluth.
