Evelyn Virginia Roy, 88, formerly of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in Cheney, Wash. She was born March 20, 1924, in Pennsylvania to Peter and Marie (Verber) Stifter.
Evelyn Virginia Roy, 88, formerly of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in Cheney, Wash. She was born March 20, 1924, in Pennsylvania to Peter and Marie (Verber) Stifter.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester Roy; two sisters, Esther King and Shirley Hurd; and two brothers, Frank Stifter and James Rash.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Roy of Spokane, Wash., and Esther Monserud (Norman Nelson) of Medical Lake, Wash.; two sisters, Gladys Briant of Lancaster, Calif., and Violet "Patsy" Korpi of Chaska, Minn.; two grandchildren, Andrea Petermann of Omaha, Neb., and Robin Price of Birmingham, Ala.; three great-grandchildren, Jared West, Abigail Price and MaKenzie Price; many nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Mary (Wade) Dammer of Brookston, Minn.
Graveside memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet.
