Robert William Haglund

Robert William Haglund, 69, of Cloquet, Minn., died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, in his home. He was born Nov. 28, 1942, in Cloquet to William and Alice Haglund. Bob grew up in Blackhoof and graduated from Carlton High School in 1960. He worked for Northwest Paper, Potlatch and Sappi before retiring in 2003 after 42 years. He was a member of the Potlatch Quarter Century Club. Bob loved to golf at Grandview with his best friend Steve Bottila and was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his former wife, Nancy Haglund.

He is survived by two daughters, Leah (Brent) Pykkonen of Esko, Minn., and Laura (Lee) Haglund-Howieson of Apple Valley, Minn.; his sister, Jean Thompson of Barnum, Minn.; two grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Andrew and Jordan Pykkonen, both of Esko; and three nephews, Ronnie, Randy and Steven Thompson.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet. Visitation will continue Monday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service, also in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Elim Lutheran Cemetery, Blackhoof.
