Thelma Strandberg

Thelma Strandberg, 93, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. Thelma was a former teacher and principal. She spent her life educating and never lost her zest for learning. She loved reading, sewing, painting and crafts. She will be missed for her spirit and wit.

She was preceded in death by husband, Emerson.

Thelma is survived by her son, Marlin (Gwynne) Wiita; daughters, Janet Wiita, Susan (Robert) Wones and Sunny Lyons; grandchildren, Stuart Wiita, Erika (Leonard) Ciumei, Timothy Wones, Melissa Wones, Roxanne (Steve) Vukov and Rick (Barb) Manzke; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Duluth. Interment will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Mahtowa, Minn.
