Harold Edward Wilkins

Harold E. Wilkins, 89, of Wrenshall, Minn., passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. He was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Shevlin, Minn., to John and Agnes Wilkins. Harold served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army during World War II. He moved to the Wrenshall area in 1964 and worked as a lineman for numerous contractors and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Harold also worked as a farmer and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wrenshall.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dale; one granddaughter, Michelle Lee; one brother, Lloyd; and three sisters, Lila Harris, Ruth Harris and Fern Naramore.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, of 62 years of marriage; four daughters, Donna (Bill) Kelley, Karen (William) Schneider, Darlene (Ron) Eng and Alice (Cliff) Kloepfer); 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wrenshall. Interment will be at Silver Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Post 2962 of Carlton, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall.
