Franklin C. Zimmerman
Franklin Charles Zimmerman, 99, of Carlton, Minn., and formerly of McGregor, Minn., died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. He was born July 30, 1913, in Corydon, Iowa, to Lloyd and Elnora (Edwards) Zimmerman. Frank was united in marriage to Clotilde "Tillie" Virginia Golden on July 11, 1936, in Aitkin, Minn. He worked as a turkey and beef cattle farmer and was a school bus driver for McGregor Schools for 31 years. Frank served on the Jevne Township Board and was the township assessor for 45 years. He was a member of the McGregor Lions Club and the McGregor United Methodist Church. He will be sadly missed and was loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tillie, in 2007; son, Marvin "Butch" Zimmerman; daughter, Marlene Homme; grandson Glenn Homme; great-granddaughter Valerie Homme; two brothers, Lester and Myrl Zimmerman; sister, Elo Zimmerman; and his parents, Lloyd and Elnora (Edwards) Zimmerman.
Frank is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Marjorie (Pete) White of Carlton, Connie (Warren) Lund of Carlton, Barbara (Stan) Roshau of Andover, Minn., and Janet (Andy) Bailey of Carlton; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Frank's sons-in-law along with Gene Packer and Roy Asp. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale and Merlin Zimmerman, Kenny Boyd, Alvin Hanson, Dick Sorenson, Del Forneris and Art Line. Lorena Kelley will sing "Amazing Grace" and Mary Beth Swanson will sing "How Great Thou Art."
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the United Methodist Church in McGregor. Chaplain Rosemary Tobin will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
