Grace Marie Sojka, 93, of Brainerd, Minn., and formerly of Brookston, Minn., passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, in Brainerd.

Grace Marie Sojka, 93, of Brainerd, Minn., and formerly of Brookston, Minn., passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, in Brainerd. She was born July 29, 1918, in International Falls, Minn., to William and Selma (Peterson) Leno. Grace was united in marriage to Frank Sojka on Oct. 30, 1940, and worked for the Anderson Boarding Home in Brookston for many years. She had been a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brookston, St. Casimir's Catholic Church in Cloquet, and Holy Family Catholic Church on Reservation Road in Cloquet. Grace also loved embroidering, going to the casino, and sitting outdoors.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Sojka; one son, Gene Sojka; five brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by one son, Dennis Sojka of Duluth, Minn.; one daughter, Joan Underland of Brainerd; one daughter-in-law, Carol Sojka of Chula Vista, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 23, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the fellowship room. Interment services will follow at New Calvary Cemetery.
