Martin Huisinger

Martin Huisinger, 91, a former Cloquet, Minn., resident passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, in Coon Rapids Mercy Hospital. He was born in Canby, Minn., on March 20, 1921, to Richard and Catherine Huisinger. Martin married Miriam Luoma on May 25, 1951.

Martin Huisinger, 91, a former Cloquet, Minn., resident passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, in Coon Rapids Mercy Hospital. He was born in Canby, Minn., on March 20, 1921, to Richard and Catherine Huisinger. Martin married Miriam Luoma on May 25, 1951.

Martin worked for Northwest Paper and Potlatch Corporation for 32 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Potlatch Quarter Century Club. Martin enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren dearly.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ella Huisinger, Ralphina Dysvick and Kate Koskela; and four brothers, Dick, George, Ralph and Pete Huisinger. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Miriam; his children, Sharon Hanson of Texas, Mike (Chang) Huisinger of Texas, Darlene Huisinger of Fridley, Minn., Les Huisinger of Minneapolis, Minn., Wayne Huisinger of Texas, Becky (Richard) Swanson of Blaine, Minn. and Lynette (Dan) Fleischer of Andover, Minn.; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Eleanor) Huisinger of Cloquet; five sisters, Jennie (Arnold) Luoma of Brainerd, Minn., Elizabeth Hanson formally of Cloquet, Ann (Loren) Terp of Cloquet, Caroline Lehikoinen of Big Lake and Rose Rochek of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, June 23, at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet with a visitation at 11 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship room. Please see the online guestbook at www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
