Louann (McMillen) Isaacson, 57, of Thomson, Minn., died peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, with her loving husband and family at her side.
Louann (McMillen) Isaacson, 57, of Thomson, Minn., died peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, with her loving husband and family at her side. Louann, who was known as "Auntie Lou" or "Gramma Lou" to all who knew and loved her, was born in Cloquet on Feb. 4, 1955, to Russell and Mary Alice (Miotke) McMillen. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Louann was so full of spunk and wit, and she had a heart of gold. Louann married her best friend, John Isaacson, on Nov. 9, 1974, and together they raised two wonderful children, Bobby and Jenny. Louann was a member of the Carlton VFW Post 2962 Auxiliary and had various jobs throughout her life, with the most recent being at the Carlton VFW and Black Bear Casino. Louann loved reading romance novels, doing puzzles, and going to garage sales, but there was nothing she loved more than taking care of her family. Her grandkids meant the world to her.
Louann was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother; her maternal grandparents, George and Marion (Winters) Miotke; and her paternal grandparents, Frank and Theodora McMillen.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, John; two children, Bobby (April Reynolds) Isaacson and Jenny (Terry) Fisher; seven grandchildren, Duane and Destiney Isaacson, Jackson and Bailey Reynolds, and Olivia, John and Eva Fisher; three sisters, Ann (Chris) Olson, Sue (Dan) O'Leary, and Mary-Jo (Dan) McCorison; two brothers, Russell (Laura) McMillen and Michael (Dori) McMillen; sister-in-laws, Bonnie (George) Houle and Gloria (Glen) Olson; special aunt, Donna (Pete) Koski; and three special cousins, Kimberly and Mandy Price, Elizabeth St. Germain and their families; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 22, from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at the Carlton VFW Club.
