Daniel "Tater Dan" Stierns, 62, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away on Thursday April 26, 2012, in his home.
Daniel "Tater Dan" Stierns, 62, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012, in his home.
Dan was in the Navy Seabees. Working for 30-plus years, he retired from Sappi in 2006 and worked as a handyman at the Lighthouse of Cloquet. In his retirement he was a senior volunteer and was an avid gardener. Dan enjoyed four-wheeling with his family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Stierns; parents, Lawrence and Violet Stierns; and father in-law, Sidney McKay.
Dan is survived by his daughter, Mindy Stierns; father, Gene (Doris) Kelleher; sisters, Liz (Jerry) Russell, Cory (Rick) Kay and Cathy (Shawn) Gilson; brothers, Steve (Laurie), Curt (Lori) and Jeff Kelleher; mother-in-law, Loma McKay; brother-in-law, Dennis (Cindy) McKay; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, with a visitation at 2 p.m. at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, 624-5200.
