Lillian Theresa Ronkainen Peterson Lampel

Lillian Theresa Ronkainen Peterson Lampel, 105, of Kettle River, Minn., died peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2012, in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center in Moose Lake, Minn. She was born Sept. 8, 1906, to Frank and Josephine Ronkainen of Kettle River. After the death of her first husband, Adolph Peterson, she worked in her father's lumber camps in northern Minnesota. She married Arvi H. Lampel in 1926 and they farmed in Kettle River. Lillian was a hard worker all her life and was active in her community. She enjoyed walks, cross country skiing, making loom rugs, crocheting and knitting for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; her husbands; sons, Harvey and Ray; son-in-law, Roland Koivisto; daughter-in-law, Donna Lampel; and grandson, Dean Koivisto.

Lillian is survived by her daughters, Gladyce Koivisto of Santa Maria, Calif., and Betty (James) Lehet of Moose Lake; 14 grandchildren and their spouses; three step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 18, from 5-7 p.m. in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Visitation will continue Thursday, April 19, from noon until the 1 p.m. service in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Kettle River. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Kettle River.
