Chris was a 1977 graduate of Central High School in Duluth, Minn., and also graduated from Bemidji State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminology. He also served as a Brevator Township supervisor and was a member of the Brevator Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Eagle Scout and had served as the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 171. Chris took many scouts to the Boundary Waters on canoe trips, Philmont Scout Camp in New Mexico, and the National Jamboree. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, and especially enjoyed bow hunting the last 10 years. Chris and his family took many camping trips out west to numerous national parks.
